When spring arrives many of us take the time to give our homes a spring clean – dust away the cobwebs, clean out all the dust that has gathered and allow the fresh air to blow through the windows, but did you know that you should also give your compressor a good clean once in a while. A compressor that is regularly maintained will run better and last longer saving you money in the long run.
It is important to closely monitor the temperatures of your compressors, especially during the warmer months when they can be prone to over heating.
If you have an air compressor then you need to also be aware of humidity. Warmer air can be humid and contain more water and as it is compressed this vapour can condense back into water. If this gets into the machine it can cause damage so it’s important to check that all taps are drained regularly and that there are no leaks.
You should ensure that you have someone that is competent to look after your compressors. Although this may be an added cost to the business it is definitely something that is worth investing in as otherwise you may end up with a compressor that doesn’t work at all.
