You may know what a CPU (central processing unit) does and how it operates. But did you know that there are now multiple CPU’s built into one another to be able to copy with tasks more effectively and efficiently than ever before? These are known as multi-core processores.
A multi-core processor is a single computer component which includes at-least two or more independent processing units, which are more commonly known as ‘cores’ in this industry. These are the units which are used to read and execute program instructions. These types of instructions would be too difficult to explain within this article, but typically they are instructions such as to add, move, data and branch at multiple times.
Having multipe cores execute these tasks effectively means that you computer can handly more requests and process them in a quicker time frame, leading to a huge boost in productivity, which so many small and medium sized businesses so desire in the UK.
